What is Jade?

 

The term “jade” refers to two different minerals: jadeite and nephrite.

While both have been used historically, jadeite is considered the rarer and more valuable of the two.

Jade Cabinet uses only jadeite — selected for its finer structure, clarity, and range of natural colours.

「玉」其實包含兩種不同礦物：翡翠（Jadeite）與軟玉（Nephrite）。

雖然兩者皆被廣泛使用，但翡翠因其質地細膩、通透度與色彩表現，更為珍貴。

Jade Cabinet 僅選用翡翠（Jadeite），以呈現更細緻的質感與自然之美。

Among jadeite sources, Burmese jadeite is widely regarded as the finest.

Formed under unique geological conditions, it is known for its density, translucency, and depth of colour.

For us, choosing Burmese jadeite is not simply about origin —

it is about working with a material that carries both natural integrity and lasting

Natural Type A Jadeite

 

All jade used at Jade Cabinet is Natural Type A jadeite (A-Grade jadeite).

This means the material is completely untreated —

with no chemical processing, dyeing, or structural enhancement.

Its colour, texture, and inclusions are entirely natural,

making each piece inherently unique.

即未經任何化學處理、染色或結構改變，

其色澤、紋理與內部特徵皆為天然形成。
